manager at the University of Kentucky's Center on Drug and Alcohol Research has been charged with growing marijuana

LEXINGTON, KY (AP) - Authorities say marijuana plants were found during a fire at the home of a University of Kentucky employee.

The blaze broke out in Lexington on Monday.

The damage was so severe officials have declared the home unsafe.

Investigators believe the fire started in the attic when grow lights overloaded a circuit.

Tracey Ellerbe, 51, was arrested.

She's a manager at the UK's center on drug and alcohol research.
