1,050 Pot Plants Found In Liberty Twp. Home

A chemical odor led to a major pot bust in Liberty Township on Wednesday night.

Butler County deputies said they received a call about a smell coming from a home on Sunrise View Court around 8:40 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they also reported the smell of marijuana. That's when they said a firefighter peered into a rear window and saw the drugs.

Narcotics agents said they seized more than 1,050 marijuana plants, which they estimated were valued at more than $1 million.

Officers said they found two men hiding in the attic of the home. A. Bay Luong, 46, and Phuc Luong, 50, were arrested and charged with felony drug possession. Police said more charges may be filed against the men.
