Trip To Tire Store Leads To Large Pot Bust: 350 Pounds

LEBANON -- Warren County authorities said a trip to get a tire fixed has turned into a large marijuana bust.

The Warren County Drug Task Force said the investigation started on Oct. 21 when Richard Lipscomb, 50, brought his car to a Lebanon tire store.

Workers called police after they said they saw Lipscomb dump three garbage bags behind the store.

Officers said they found 17 pounds of marijuana in the bags.

When a search warrant was served on Lipscomb's home, police said they found 60 additional pounds of marijuana.

After further investigation, the drug task force said it went to three locations in Caesar's Creek State Park on Tuesday and found 300 pounds of marijuana.

Lipscomb is charged with possession, trafficking and cultivation of marijuana, as well as possession of criminal tools.
